Crafts are so much fun in VBS - usually one of the stations kids look forward to the most! I believe it is absolutely possible to provide great crafts for VBS without them costing a lot of money - after all, most churches have tight budgets, especially for VBS. Oriental Trading has a wide variety of rubber ducks - cowboy ducks, professional ducks (nurses, firefighters, police, construction workers), beach ducks, sports ducks and religious ducks to mention a few. A number of vbs publishers make available little "toys" that have the daily verse or point on them so you can give one to each child each day. This can become costly. Consider getting these ducks and allow children to use permanent ink markers to write the verse/point on their duck each day instead of handing out the items from publishers. Kids love rubber ducks, so this is a fun and relatively inexpensive way to send home a verse/point reminder each day!
