American Association of Christian Counselors World Conference

Well Worth the Investment!

The non stop action that was the “Take Me To the Cross” World Conference was the most comprehensive, high quality, inspirational, and dynamic conference AACC has ever put together. Offering 37 different pre-conference learning institutes and over 119 workshops from some of the highest caliber experts in the field, it was geared toward a wide array of potential attendees. The participants included professional counselors, pastors, lay staff, students, and hundreds of other Christian leaders from all over the world.

Plenary speakers included David Jeremiah, John Ortberg, Larry Crab, Archibald Hart, Erwin McManus, Bruce Wilkinson, Stormie Omartian, Bishop Wellington Boon and a host of other gifted and highly inspirational communicators. Break Out sessions ran on several different tracks offered by experts in the fields of marriage therapy, psychiatry, trauma and grief therapy, pastoral-local church ministry, and more than a dozen others. The opportunity for personal renewal, professional development, networking with thousands of others in the field, and perusing and acquiring the best resources available by over 250 different Christian organizations and agencies was well worth the investment.

Personally, the highlight for me came when I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Mark McMinn of Wheaton College. He is the author of several books, including Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling. He is a leader in the field as a Cognitive Therapist and as a professor at Wheaton. I have been greatly impacted by several of his books and articles, deeply respecting his integration model in the world of Christian Counseling. His insights and passion for not only bringing psychology and professional counseling into the church, but also bringing the church (specifically theology and spirituality) into the secular arena of psychology was a paradigm shift for me. Dr. McMinn’s depth of knowledge and sincere humility screamed of someone who was distinctly competent and professional as a leader in this vital, exploding, and often controversial area in the Kingdom of God.

The “No Greater Love” 2007 World Conference is fast approaching. Don’t miss this opportunity for personal development, spiritual renewal, and networking with other professionals in the trenches. The benefits will far outweigh whatever investments of time, energy, and resources you make to be a part of this fantastic event.
