TEAM-UP...PPARENTS & YOU

It is so easy for our families to be caught up in the hurry and glitter of the christmas season that we loose track of what it really is all about.  These resources will help families spend more time on the real meaning of Christmas - and will help them build memories and traditions.

A Family Christmas Treasury
Author - Adrian Rogers
Illustrator - Thomas Kinkade
Publisher - Crossway

This resource is an excellent tool to help families keep their focus where it belongs - on Christ with it's 31 devotions and activities . . . one for each day of December.  "A Family Christmas Tradition" will take you "from the manger of Bethlehem to the cross of Calvary and beyond to help you gain a richer understanding of God's Wondrous gift : Jesus!"

Favorite Features:

  • 31 devotions - one for each day in December
  • includes daily scripture
  • daily activities to help your family apply and live out truth
  • Part One focuses on "Jesus the Steadfast Love"
  • Part Two focuses on "Jesus the Shining Light"
  • Part three focuses on "Jesus the Saving Lamb"
  • Part four focuses on "Jesus the Sovereign Lord"
  • Christmas Day focus is "O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the Lord"
  • Part five focuses on "Jesus the Satisfying Life"
  • Doesn't leave the focus on the Baby, but on the plan of God and how our "families can live out the meaning of Jesus' birth everyday."
  • beautiful illustrations
I recommend this book for all families to enjoy - begin a new family holiday tradition of reading this book together each December!  Extremely well done Adrian, Thomas and Crossway!

Christmas in Bethlehem -  3-D Advent Calendar
Publisher - Standard Publishing

I remember my family using an advent calendar when I was a child - it was a fun part of the holiday season to open the little advent calendar windows and count down the days to Christmas!  My husband and I always did count-down advent calendars with our children - it is such a wonderful way to build good family memories.  This advent calendar is one of the nicest ones I've seen  . . . 3-D makes it unique.

Favorite Features:

  • lots of color
  • 3-D makes it interesting and fun
  • 25 lift-open windows
  • references provided so you can read the Christmas story from the Bible
  • easy to assemble
I highly recommend this as a great family tradition building resource.  Well done Standard!
