resources for effective children's ministry

TEAM-UP...PPARENTS & YOU

I believe that one of the keys to effective children's ministry is to have the parents actively involved in teaching their children at home. As I come across resources and ideas that will help parents to effectively teach their children, I will let you know about them in this section. In our last issue I reviewed "48 Fun Excuses to Talk About God" - that is an excellent resource for use in the home. In this edition we will look at "The Heritage Builders - Family Night Tool Chest" - another excellent resource for families.

    • main points clearly stated
    • simple "Life Slogan" for each lesson
    • active learning activities
    • age adjustments for older or younger children

I like this resource and believe it to be a very effective tool to help families grow together. I like that the authors want parents to learn to create "intentional impression points" with their children and agree that is what Deuteronomy 6:5 - 9 is talking about. Each Family Night is filled with active learning activities designed to get kids to interact with their families to learn and apply God's wisdom to their lives. I highly recommend this resource as an excellent tool to help parents effectively create "intentional lasting impressions" on their children to pass on a spiritual heritage to their children. Extremely well done Jim, Kurt, Mike, Amy and Chariot/Victor!
