Idea!
I believe it is so important we take the time to thank our volunteers - why not take an evening before your Fall begins and thank those who have volunteered to serve in your Children's, Youth and even Adult classes in the coming year!
Start of the Year Teacher Appreciation
Barbecue
- Select a date, perhaps a Sunday evening after church or a Saturday afternoon in the end of August, and begin promoting it to your volunteers.
- Make and mail invitations to each of your volunteers
- Plan a simple menu and arrange for enough barbecue grills
- Consider arranging for child care at the church, as teens to provide as an outreach project and plan for video, craft and games as well as a snack or small meal
On the day of your event, greet
everyone as they arrive and provide them with a name tag - be sure to include
the area they will be serving in for the coming year
on the name tag. Encourage everyone to get to know
one another and fellowship together. Have fun! Be sure to pull
everyone together before people begin to leave and pray together for the
volunteers, their families and their ministries over the coming year!
This is just a simple way to start
the year with your volunteers feeling valued, affirmed and appreciated
- a great way to get off to a terrific start!:^)
